Giacometti-Chadwick, Facing Fear publication
This new publication accompanies the first exhibition to explicitly place the works of Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) and Lynn Chadwick (1914-2003) side by side. Giacometti-Chadwick, Facing Fear at the Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle, Netherlands, presents over 150 works by both artists, examining how they responded to the world after the Second World War. While Giacometti reduced the human form to its bare essentials, Chadwick created powerful archetypal images of both people and animals.
The publication includes 150 illustrations, presenting images of all the works in the exhibition and archive photography of the artists in their studios. These are accompanied by an essay from Michael Bird. In Dutch and in English.
Giacometti-Chadwick, Facing Fear at the Museum de Fundatie runs from 22 September 2018 to 6 January 2019.
